This is the best way I could figure out how to sync the gopro footage with the dslr footage I shot of the victory run on Saturday night. I simply matched up the few frames of Jeff’s ring toss move since it’s one of the few things that is visible in both videos.
I don’t know if I’ll post the actual end result of this work for public consumption… but stay tuned in case I do. If nothing else it was a great exercise in syncing video from sources that weren’t necessarily meant to be synced.
In the meantime, check out this short clip from the victory run…
This day was too full of awesome, so I decided that I would choose a photo of what will make me laugh for decades… the memory of Todd Ryan grabbing a cup of coffee from the cart that happened to come down the hall as the corps entered the field.
Freaking amazing performance tonight. I couldn’t take any pictures from where I was on the field, but that’s alright. Kirbie and I were able to just enjoy the show.
The last time I attended finals retreat on the field was 2008, because i felt like it was some kind of bad luck. I tempted fate tonight though… it paid off since the corps won the championship with a 98.7! Congratulations to everyone who took part in this awesome corps this season, and to all the other corps that made for stiff competition all season!
The victory run was pretty great as well, I shot video of the whole thing so no photos of that either.
We have to get on the bus at 9am tomorrow to head back to Lucas Oil. The corps is performing part of their show for half time at the Colts game!
Very short rehearsal day due to some last minute changes at the rehearsal facility. Early runthrough followed by a laid back afternoon back at the hotel. I think the hornline and guard worked on some choreography and the drums did some playing outside. All I know for sure is that I was able to get a short nap in a real bed and it was fantastic!
There ended up being quite a big storm during the show, luckily all of the corps had a chance to find warm up zones in the convention center. We actually ended up doing visual warm up right outside of the convention center under a big overhang. The lighting was too cool so I had to do some slow shutter speed shots.
Well this is a normal shutter shot, but you can see how nice those lights on the wet streets look. Beautiful!
The show itself was fantastic of course, and I think the front ensemble (pit) was happy with their performance…
Turns out they won the percussion caption tonight! A nice bonus on top of winning overall :-D
I haven’t had time to go through all of today’s photos yet, but this one seemed pretty cool. I took a lot of slow shutter shots like this tonight. Great final rehearsal night, awesome run through, and a big old cloud full of rain right after. Overall, great day!
