Daily Photo – August 5, 2012

I am pretty sure this is the first time I’ve been able to take some pictures of guard warm up. There was a pretty big thunderstorm in East Rutherford tonight which led to a rain delay. The show also became an exhibition. A lot of weirdness on the night, but I still enjoyed the performance very much.

There were a lot of logistical things to take care of today, from snack break during rehearsal, to serving dinner at the stadium before warm up, to leaving behind all the drinks as Devil’s Food got a head start to Indiana. Pretty sure I nailed it every step of the way ;-)

That’s all for now, onward to Indiana and Championships Week!

Yeah Shaun looks solid in this photo, but check out those rifles!

I only took photos during the run through tonight, but still ended up with about 120 decent photos. Look for them on my facebook!

There was a kitty that showed up at snack, I’ll post some pictures I got of her later.

I also got to watch some tv with Kirbie tonight which was very enjoyable.

That’s it for now, thanks for having a look!

This photo of Jeff was my favorite from today. I was using Kirbie’s 70-300mm AF lens so I had to focus manually all night. About half of my results were undesirable, but there were a few gems like this one. Tonight’s show was at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.

I don’t like this show site because it’s on a giant hill with the stadium at the top, and it seems like the hornline warms up further and further down the hill time. I should probably just get in better shape in the off season.

During warmup I talked about art. photography, and other stuff with recent alumni Kyle. That was pretty interesting and made me think about some stuff I had never considered before.

Oh, I made a short video back at the high school as well…
