That shot in the Time Machine was pretty cool. I actually thought that way was somewhat realistic because it implies that the time machine exists in that space the entire time, and therefore has a physical presence that is kept anchored to that spot on Earth throughout the journey. Maybe it was a mysterious void that people were scared of, so nobody went near it to build stuff, but it may have made more sense for them to encase it in concrete to protect innocents from stumbling to their deaths.

Most of the time the rules of time travel are determined by two things... How cool it looks, and how can it serve the story without drawing most of the audience out the experience.

I've wondered about that too. Also, how do they know that whatever spot they appear in the other time isn't already occupied, by a post or a tree? Have you ever seen the movie of The Time Machine? It shows that machine sitting in one place and zooming through centuries of time... how is it that there was never anything built in that spot, ever? And that's not even taking into account your point about the Earth travelling through space...

Thanks for reading and commenting! OF course I can't guarantee that you'll love Shameless, I think there's a pretty good chance you will. I can't think of a single negative thing about it, except for I don't like some of the characters because they're jerks. But that's the point, so they nail that too. Anyway, I look forward to hearing what you think of it, let me know!

I haven't watched Shameless, but hearing you say it's the next best thing after Breaking Bad and Justified sold me. Those are my two favorite shows on TV right now and you've clearly found the way into my heart and now I have to start watching Shameless.

Thanks for your review!
