Justified – Season 3 Episode 2 ‘Cut Ties’

It seems like Raylan is pretty much recovered from his GSW, good thing since every scene with him last week made me wince a bit.

Spoilers ahead!

Raylan asking Boyd for relationship advice, and Boyd’s reaction to Raylan wanting to get him out by the end of the day. Very funny.

The Walter is kinda annoying, but his storyline is pretty interesting. I’d have preferred more Desmond Harrington as the bad guy of the week, but Mykelti Williamson will be just as good and looks to be the season-long baddy.

The take down outside the hotel room was awesome! The framing and choreography worked perfectly.

All of Boyd’s actions to get at Dickie remind me of the premiere of House this season.

“You have the right to remain silent as long you can stand the pain.” I enjoyed these interrogation scenes, it’s a side of Art we don’t get to see nearly enough.

Of course the Boyd/Dickie scene in solitary was intense, Dickie’s muttering about the money was my favorite part. I can’t tell if those were written lines or if he was improvising some of it, it flowed really well and made me chuckle a bit despite the danger he was in.

Not nearly enough Winona, and no Ava at all? Disappointing.

Overall, a great episode and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
